Compost Gardening
The following steps will help you get started:
1. Make a compost bin out of chicken wire (see first link below).
2. Start making compost (it will go faster if you add a yard of manure when you first start out).
3. Build a simple raised planter. As your compost is done "cooking," move compost to your raised planter.
4. When your planter is full enough to plant, plant seeds or plants and cover beds with stripped newspaper, then a thin layer of soil. If you like potatoes, push potato peels 6"- 8" deep into your planter (not your composter). You will have the most flavorful, incredible potatoes you have ever eaten!
5. Water as needed. You won't beleive the results!

Safely Drying Food

Fresh food is awesome. When you use pure compost for gardening, you will have huge yields. My first compost garder was only 4' x 12' but yielded more food than I could eat. I learned how to dry my food so I could use it later.
